Chartis Appoints New Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer

Chartis, a property-casualty and general insurance provider, has appointed Samir Shah as senior vice president and chief risk officer, who will be responsible for worldwide risk management strategies.
Mr Shah was with Validus Holdings, where he held the position of executive vice president and chief risk officer. He also worked as executive vice president and chief risk officer for Scottish Re Group.
He was employed at Towers Perrin as a principal, responsible for development of intellectual capital and delivery of client services in risk and capital management. He also held consulting and actuarial positions with Watson Wyatt Worldwide.
